Michigan board to mull switch to ACT

The Missouri Board of Education Thursday will take up the issue of whether the ACT exam, modified to meet state standards, should replace the state exam by 2008. While proponents of the change say students would take the ACT more seriously since their scores on the test affect their chances of college admission, critics question whether the ACT is as rigorous as the current state exam.
