Recession plants seeds for home gardening trend

The idea of home gardening may take root in 2009, as the National Gardening Association predicts a 19% jump in home gardens this year. Spurred by the recession, many gardeners hope to save money by growing their own vegetables. According to a study by Burpee Seeds, $50 spent on gardening supplies can translate into $1,250 worth of fresh produce.
