Schering-Plough ends securities suit tied to production issues

Schering-Plough agreed to pay $165 million to settle a securities class-action lawsuit alleging that the drugmaker concealed information about manufacturing problems that led to the delayed FDA approval of allergy drug Clarinex. The company continues to deny any wrongdoing, saying the settlement was reached to avoid further litigation.
