Report: Construction sector is showing signs of life

The construction sector could be finally emerging from its slump, according to new data that show growth in the materials market and equipment shipments. Materials production rose 0.8% over the last three months, while equipment shipments from U.S. factories have jumped 20% over the past five months. Still, experts warn that a sustained recovery isn't expected until construction spending begins to increase in the spring.
