Canada on track to establish national cord blood bank

Provincial and territorial health ministers in Canada, excluding Quebec, have committed $48 million over the next eight years to establish a national public umbilical-cord blood bank. Those who are part of the initiative are looking to store 20,000 cord blood units and set up two cord blood stem cell facilities in that time.
