Study: Dog owners are more likely to get enough exercise

Dog owners had a 34% higher chance of getting 150 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise each week -- the government-recommended physical activity benchmark -- than nondog owners, according to a study in the Journal of Physical Activity and Health. The researchers said public health campaigns should promote the health benefits of dog walking.
