Google reveals AdWords security techniques

A Google community outreach effort lifts the veil on how the Internet giant polices millions of AdWords a day to avoid repeats of past scandals, such as scam pharmaceutical ads, writes Pamela Parker. Google employs complex algorithms to spot bad advertisers and deploys an army of people responding to consumer complaints for rapid response. However, Google is increasing its security efforts and employing a new risk model to ensure the public it's a good corporate citizen.
