Insurer pay plan improves quality, saves money, offers bonus

Physicians in Albany, N.Y., are joining CDPHP's Enhanced Primary Care payment plan, which the insurer says saves $96 per patient per year, reduces hospitalizations by 15% and earns doctors an average bonus of $50,000. Physician practices are paid a set, risk-adjusted monthly fee for each patient.
