K-9 officer with blastomycosis is euthanized

A Wisconsin K-9 officer named Chip was euthanized after he was diagnosed with a severe case of blastomycosis, a fungal infection that primarily causes lung infections but also affects the eyes, bones, skin and lymph nodes. Blastomycosis affects humans and animals and is contracted from inhalation of B. dermatitidis spores.
