N.C. city launches childhood obesity prevention program

Winston-Salem, N.C., has begun the Educational Childhood Obesity Prevention Program to educate children ages 7 to 10 and their families about nutrition and exercise as a way to prevent disease. The $90,000 initiative, paid for by grant money, features workshops and an interactive website that offers examples of exercises, outdoor activities and healthy foods.
