Poll: Municipal solid waste is most promising biofuel feedstock

Industry leaders polled at the World Biofuels Markets summit in the Netherlands believed that municipal solid waste was the most promising feedstock for next-generation biofuels. About 26% of respondents voted for municipal solid waste, 24% for nonfood crops such as jatropha and switchgrass, and 21% favored algae, the survey showed. Meanwhile, nearly 50% of respondents agreed that the price of oil will be the primary driver of biofuel investment in the next 10 years.
