Wacker raises investment in Tenn. polysilicon plant to $2B

Wacker Chemical will spend an additional $200 million for a plant under construction in Tennessee, bringing total investment up to $2 billion, including 1,000 construction workers. The facility is expected to annually produce more than 20,000 metric tons of polysilicon, an essential component in making solar panels.
