Florida adopts preschool standards

Yesterday, the Florida Board of Education approved dozens of guidelines for 4-year-olds in seven broad areas, including physical health, language and communication, early academics and motor development. Preschools that fail for two straight years to prepare their students for kindergarten could be forced to adopt a state-approved curriculum or lose state funding.
