Study: Hormone dramatically reduces schizophrenia symptoms

Estrogen patches effectively alleviate hallucinations, delusions and thought disorders in women with schizophrenia, according to a new Australian study. "This is revolutionary because it shows without a doubt that it really works to help these women," said the lead researcher, professor Jayashri Kulkarni. "The women who received the hormone patch got remarkably better over the eight-week trial, by making radical improvements in key symptoms."
