Imaging industry no longer safe from recession, experts say

Once considered "recession-proof," the medical-imaging sector is expected to face tough times this year as health care providers reduce capital budgets and move toward more consolidations. Health care providers also are wary of the federal Deficit Reduction Act, which reduced Medicare reimbursement rates for imaging procedures. However, experts say the industry might rebound later this year as demand slowly builds up.
