Private firms could see more whistle-blower actions

Private-sector employers may be overlooking the fact that they will now come under the same McCaskill Amendment provisions as government entities if they have received funds from the U.S. federal stimulus package. The whistle-blower protections, which previously applied mostly to hazardous working conditions and related issues, now extend to cases involving egregious wasting or mismanagement of the federal funds.
