Senate bipartisan group holds influence over health-reform plan

The chance that a bill for comprehensive health care reform will be passed in Congress by the end of the year rests largely on a bipartisan group of nine senators that includes the chairmen of the Senate finance, health and budget committees. The group, led by Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., is tasked not only with crafting a bill that can win enough votes in the Senate but also managing turf wars between committees.
