Colorado bill seeks to protect against uninsured drivers

The Colorado House approved legislation that would require an insured driver's auto insurer to stand as his agent in a traffic-accident lawsuit if the at-fault motorist does not have auto coverage. The bill is designed to compel all drivers "to provide for their financial responsibility for the protection of others, and to assure the widespread of availability to the insuring public of insurance protection against financial loss caused by negligent financial irresponsible motorists."
