FDA hears comments from experts on blood sugar meters

Experts present at a two-day meeting being held by the FDA on blood glucose meters say that accurate meter readings could play a key role in ensuring proper treatment of diabetic patients. Meanwhile, an internal medicine doctor at Harvard Medical School suggested the agency limit the margin of error of devices to 10%. The agency is seeking comments to determine whether to impose higher performance standards for such devices.
