GLAAD honors Cynthia Nixon, Joy Behar, "Brothers & Sisters" series

The ABC series "Brothers & Sisters," the Broadway musical "Hair" and The Advocate magazine were among the winners of GLAAD Media Awards at a ceremony on Saturday in New York. Out actress Cynthia Nixon received the Vito Russo Award for her marriage-equality advocacy, and Joy Behar of "The View" got the Excellence in Media Award. The event also recognized Will Phillips, an 11-year-old Arkansas boy who has stopped reciting the Pledge of Allegiance until LGBT people have gained equality.
