Price differential between ethanol and gasoline passes $1 a gallon

Abundant supplies of ethanol, an expected bumper corn crop and a 45-cent-per-gallon tax credit for blending ethanol with gasoline have meant a price difference of more than $1 a gallon between ethanol and gasoline and driven blending volumes up by 20%. Ethanol's popularity could be temporary, however, and may fade when corn prices rise and gas prices fall.
