Fed maintains easy-money policy because of global shocks

The Federal Reserve indicated that it remains vigilant on inflation and offered reassurance on the growth outlook as it kept its monetary policy in place. The Federal Open Market Committee said the economy is on "firmer footing" and that employment market is "improving gradually." Meanwhile, business investment and household spending are increasing. However, policymakers noted concerns about global instability and how it will affect the U.S.
