IOM suggests objectives for Healthy People 2020 plan

The Institute of Medicine, in a recommendation for the Healthy People 2020 plan, underscored health care access and quality and healthy behaviors as top priorities and said chronic diseases, healthy births and substance abuse require immediate attention. The institute said the overall goals of the plan include health equality and improved quality of life, healthy development and healthy behaviors from childhood to old age.
