Texas fracking bill gains support from drillers, environmentalists

Energy companies and environmental groups are backing legislation in Texas that would require disclosure of chemicals in hydraulic fracturing fluids. "Energy and the environmental groups have tried to get together on this, and I hope we have done that with this bill," said Mark Boling, executive vice president and general counsel at Southwestern Energy. The measure "is truly a win-win for industry, environmental groups, legislators and the public at large," said Scott Anderson, senior policy adviser at the Environmental Defense Fund.
