American Airlines will consider merger down the road, AMR CEO says

Tom Horton, CEO of American Airlines' parent company, AMR Corp., says the carrier will be open to a merger at some point in the future. "We're not opposed to consolidation in the industry, and I wouldn't rule it out for American as things develop," Horton said. However, he said it would be "unwise" for AMR Corp. to consider a merger while going through bankruptcy.
