Va. district mulls cuts to NBCT stipends

A Virginia school district is considering eliminating its $2,000 stipends for National Board Certified Teachers. The proposal, included in the district's proposed budget, was opposed by more than one dozen NBCTs at a recent meeting. "I kind of feel like we're being kicked in the gut on this one," said Jeff Weigel, a National Board Certified Teacher.
