Tech buffs worry Supreme Court's file-share case threatens innovation

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments March 29 in MGM v. Grokster, a case that could have far-reaching implications for copyright protection and intellectual property law. But some technologists are worried that a decision from the court could imperil development of collaborative software systems such as photo-sharing network Flickr, Amazon's A9 search engine and Wikipedia, the Web-based participatory encyclopedia project.
