Alitalia board accepts $1.1B bid from Air France-KLM

The board for Alitalia has voted to accept a $1.1 billion bid from Air France-KLM to take over the struggling carrier. Under the deal, Air France-KLM wants the support of unions, who have criticized the 1,600 job cuts, as well as the Italian government, EU competition authorities and the stock market regulator.
