Board will vote on $1B plan to improve Detroit airport

A $1 billion improvement plan for Detroit Metropolitan Airport will go before the Wayne County Airport Authority board for a vote on Thursday. If approved, the plan will go to the FAA for consideration. The plans that the airport hopes to secure funding for include construction of a new runway, terminal expansions and a monorail system.
