Competition drives the wireless industry, which could suffer under a patchwork of regulations that vary by state, according to carriers. "The wireless industry continues to be one of the great consumer and economic success stories of the 21st century," said Steve Largent, president of CTIA -- The Wireless Association®, which is not against some national regulations, but discourages rules that vary by state.
