Study: State and local taxes still weigh on wireless customers

Wireless customers continue to be burdened with high state and local taxes as many states tax wireless service as if it were a regulated utility, according to a report commissioned by CTIA-The Wireless Association® "Wireless consumers continue to pay excessive and burdensome state and local taxes on their wireless service, even though economists and policymakers agree that there is no rational economic basis for excessive taxation of the industry and its consumers," the report said.
