U.S. urges China to exercise prudence in Tibet protests

As the State Department warned Americans about traveling in China's Tibetan Autonomous Region, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice asked China to be cautious in its handling of the protests there. "I am deeply saddened to learn that the turmoil that erupted (Friday) in Lhasa following what began as peaceful protests has resulted in the loss of lives, and I am concerned that the violence appears to be continuing," Rice said.
