U.S. House leader decries AIG bonuses

Barney Frank, chairman of the House of Representatives' Financial Services Committee, categorized American Insurance Group's executive bonuses payment as "rewarding incompetence." After the beleaguered insurer accepted more than $170 billion in federal aid, the firm announced it will award its top employees about $165 million in bonuses. Frank and others in Congress are calling for steps to be taken to prevent similar actions in the future.
