The climate-and-energy bill being crafted by Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Joe Lieberman, I-Conn., is moving in a direction that is "largely in sync" with industry targets, said Bruce Josten, the top lobbyist of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The lawmakers are reportedly putting aside an economywide cap-and-trade system to curb greenhouse-gas emissions in favor of a more sector-specific approach, according to this blog posting.
