South Korean president announces plans to overhaul education

South Korean President Lee Myung-bak is beginning efforts for education reform that include giving principals more control over school curriculum, reducing the number of students who rely on private tutors and improving the quality of public education. Lee made the announcement during the first Educational Reform Measures Meeting, which will continue monthly.
