Study: New PET tracer aids in heart failure prognosis

For heart failure prognosis, the LMI1195 PET tracer provides better images of the sympathetic nervous system compared with SPECT imaging using 123I-MIBG, a study found. The agent provides doctors with a way to pinpoint those who would benefit from an implantable cardioverter defibrillator, said an official from Lantheus Medical Imaging, maker of the PET tracer.
