United expects increase in 1Q passenger revenue

United Airlines reports that it expects its first quarter consolidated passenger unit revenue per available seat mile to increase by 16% to 17%, compared to the same quarter a year ago. The increase should be between $11.44 and $11.54, and the airline noted that, while it lost $40 million from the February snowstorms on the East Coast, it boosted its passenger revenue metric by 0.4 percentage points.
