Vet offers advice to protect pets during spring season

The spring season can present risks to companion animals, including allergies and the ingestion of toxic plants and flowers that could lead to health problems, such as kidney failure. To protect pets from skin irritations and bug bites, Dr. Elisa Mazzaferro, a Colorado-based veterinarian and a member of AVMA, says owners can opt for flea and tick treatments for their pets.
