CFTC's Gensler outlines timetable for finalizing swaps rules

Gary Gensler, chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, said the agency will start finalizing regulations for the over-the-counter swaps market. Capital and margin requirements for swaps transactions are expected to take longer, Gensler said. The CFTC will not meet July deadlines for writing many of the rules mandated by the Dodd-Frank Act, he said. Read Gensler's speech.
