House bill would make R&D tax credit permanent

Rep. Kevin Brady, R-Texas, introduced the American Research and Competitiveness Act, which would increase the tax credit for research and development from 14% of a company's investment to 20% and make it permanent in the federal tax code. "We need a tax code that spurs innovation and promotes sustainable job growth in industries like medical technology," said bill co-sponsor Rep. Erik Paulsen, R-Minn.
