House, Senate embark on comprehensive tax reform

Both the House of Representatives and Senate are moving forward with efforts for comprehensive tax reform. The endeavors are being made with an eye to bipartisanship, but observers don't believe a reform of the tax code will occur in the next two years. In February, the AICPA sent a compendium of legislative proposals to congressional tax panels that would simplify or make technical corrections to the nation's tax laws.
