AGC report: Jan. showed year-over-year increase in construction jobs

In many states, construction employment increased in January on a year-over-year basis, according to the Associated General Contractors of America. All told, firms in 38 states experienced employment gains in the month as compared to the same month last year. However, the demand for construction workers may taper off this summer if "Congress and the [Obama] administration fail to address the looming transportation funding shortfalls that threaten billions of dollars worth of construction projects," according to Stephen Sandherr, CEO of AGC.
