FDA, cosmetics industry frustrated by stalled regulatory talks

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and cosmetics manufacturers are frustrated by their lack of consensus on strengthening regulations for the first time since 1938. FDA Deputy Commissioner Michael Taylor recently told two trade groups that the agency can no longer "justify devoting further taxpayer resources to this negotiation." In response, the Personal Care Products Council said it would work with Congress on regulatory reform.
