French air controller strike to cause cancellations

The French Civil Aviation Authority is asking airlines to cut the number of flights going in and out of France's major airports by 20% to 30% as an air traffic controller strike begins today. Eurocontrol is planning to reroute flights around France, but airlines warned passengers of potential delays. Air France-KLM said long-haul passengers won't be affected but medium- and short-haul flights were more likely to be canceled.
