Siemens, Autodesk part of Chicago lab consortium to spur U.S. manufacturing

With $70 million in federal funds and $250 million from other sources, the Digital Lab for Manufacturing is being established in Chicago to help revive the U.S. manufacturing sector through new technology and other means. UI LABS, Autodesk and Siemens are part of the lab consortium, with the latter two contributing software. "This is a transformative opportunity to shape the future of American manufacturing," said UI LABS Chairman Warren Holtsberg.
