Starbucks, Keurig amend K-cup deal to allow for more premium brands

Starbucks has agreed to drop its exclusive license for the top level of premium Keurig K-cup pods, in exchange for the ability to offer a wider selection of Keurig Green Mountain's single-serve K-Cup coffee packs. The amendment to the companies' five-year deal opens up possibilities for Keurig to launch a partnership with Peets, said Mark Astrachan, an analyst with Stifel Nicolaus.
