Insurers put skids on higher-priced procedures, meds

As health care costs continue to soar, health insurers are clamping down on costly procedures and medications and are targeting certain services in particular, such as diagnostic imaging and outpatient surgery, a new survey says. Tests getting increased scrutiny for suspected overuse include CAT scans and MRIs.
