Judge upholds ban against chicken antibiotics blamed for human resistance

Two chicken antibiotics blamed for causing antibiotic resistance in humans suffered a setback earlier this week when an administration law judge upheld the FDA's ban on the products. The FDA acted two years ago to ban Bayer's Baytril and Abbott Laboratories' SaraFlox, but Bayer fought the action and Baytril remains for sale while Abbott removed its drug from the market.
