New York students fare better on Regents, yet minority gap troubles officials

Yesterday, New York state education officials announced more students are passing the Regents exams, although achievement gaps between whites and some minorities remain. Despite the state's increasingly difficult requirements, more than 85% of students in high school for four years passed all five of the required exams.
