Credit card companies smoke online cig dealers

Under the terms of an agreement with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, major credit card issuers no longer will do business with companies that sell cigarettes online. Online payment company PayPal is a party to the agreement, along with credit card companies: American Express; Visa; MasterCard; Discover; and Diners Club. States report losing more than $1 billion a year in revenue, owing to the untaxed sale of tobacco products online.
